I just wanted to report that we received a demo unit of the Tello Drone, I’ve taken it for a spin around the office, and it is surprisingly good! While it runs its own user interface, it is very similar to the DJI Go App, but simplified. Flight stability indoors is quite good, and the “flight modes” (flip, take off from hand, auto take off and landing etc) all work well and as advertised. It is a competent little drone and it inspires confidence in use. The camera isn’t bad for what it is, and its more than enough to take a selfie or “dronie”. For a retail price point of $99, its rather good, and much better than the other “toy drones” on the market. This really feels like a higher grade drone dumbed down than the typical toy products we see around this price point. It also offers an excellent STEM/EDU product. Its low cost, flies well, and its simple user interface is intuitive and easy to pick up. Let me know if I can be of any help, we are expecting our shipment mid March!
